Steve Bocian is the Boys Head Counselor. This is Steve's 25th year at Timber Lake. Steve has never missed a year in camp since he was 7 years old. He has often said he became a teacher so he could always go to camp. He is proud of the new programs and activities that have been implemented over the last 25 years. "Our league program is the best around". The Gordon Cup Hockey Tournament and Jacobs Basketball Tournament have become the biggest tournaments in camping. Campers work from the time they are freshmen on their hockey and basketball skills in an attempt to prepare themselves for those tournaments. Steve is especially excited about the football field and fitness center planned for 2011. During the off-season, Steve is a math teacher and math chairman at East Meadow High School on Long Island. Steve looks forward to seeing all the returning campers and staff and the new ones as well this summer. "It's going to be a great 2011".
