Janie Schwartz has been in camping since 1980. She is a full time Associate Director during the winter months and works as the Girls' Head Counselor during the camp season. Janie is involved in staff recruitment, program development and she keeps in touch with campers and parents. Her goal is to fulfill our camp mission which is to teach kids the skills of making and keeping friends while building their self-confidence and self esteem.

Romy Diamond is the Girls’ Assistant Head Counselor. She started as a camper at Timber Lake in 1983. She worked as a Junior Counselor, Counselor, Group Leader, and Assistant Head Counselor for Lower Camp. Romy was also a Marathon Lieutenant for White Wild West and a General of both Floridian Green and White Russians. During her 10 month hiatus from TLC Romy works as an Assistant Principal at P.S. 81 in Queens.

Danielle Cohen is the Division Leader for the Freshmen Girls. This is her second year at TLC. She is from Potomac, Maryland and currently lives in NYC. Danielle taught for 5 years in the NYC school system and now teaches in a private school. She loves to swim, play tennis, lacrosse, and run. Danielle also loves to cook. She is looking forward to a fun-filled summer!

Cathi Weinstein will be joining the Timber Lake staff this summer as Assistant Head Counselor on girl’s side. She has worked for the past 10 summers at a day camp located in New Jersey. She holds a B. A. in communications from Monmouth University and also is a certified Medical Assistant. She is very excited about making the transition into sleep-away camp and looks forward to meeting all the campers. In her free time she enjoys playing tennis, skiing, volunteering at school and sporting functions, and has served for 3 years on the PTO executive board as VP of fundraising. Cathi lives in Millburn, New Jersey with her husband Steve, their three children and dog Snoopy. Daughter's Samantha and Jordyn will be first time Timber Lake campers this summer and will be joined by their younger brother Adam in a few years when he is old enough.

Liz Mayo is back for her 8th year at TLC and is in charge of the Sophomore and Junior Girls. Liz spent 8 years as camper herself as a young girl and has much experience in camping and with children. She has spent her summers at Timber Lake Camp with her two sons, who have grown up at camp. Adam began as a pre-camper while Jordan began as a cadet boy in 2001. During the off season, Liz is employed at Levenger where she is a corporate sales representative. In the summer of 2005 Liz was honored to be inducted into the Hall of Fame.

Jessica Jacobs is the Division Leader for our Teen Girls. This will be Jessica's 19th summer at Timber Lake Camp. She started as a camper and then became a Junior Counselor, General Counselor, Group Leader and is currently a Division Leader. Jessica loves having the oldest girls and helps train them to become terrific staff members. She now works full time for the TLC organization.

Naomi Skolnik is one of our assistant head counselors and is returning for her 13th summer at Timber Lake Camp. She graduated from Cornell University in 2007 with a degree in psychology and is currently teaching first grade in Brooklyn, NY, with the Teach for America program. Camp has remained a major part of her life. Naomi still remains friendly and in constant contact with her camp friends. Having such close friendships, Naomi hopes to help create these same friendships amongst her own campers this summer.
