Girls Leadership Institute

Last weekend I attended a fantastic two-day workshop entitled “Girl Meets World” led by Rachel Simmons and Simone Marean. Rachel and Simone have developed a curriculum to help teach girls better ways to express their emotions, resolve conflicts and build authentic relationships.

I had met Rachel Simmons a few years ago when she presented at the annual camp conference and I was totally impressed with her. Odd Girl Out and The Curse Of The Good Girl are books that Rachel has written in this field which helps to empower young women and provide them the tools they need to navigate the everyday social pressures that young girls are often faced with. I’m excited about taking what I’ve learned from Rachel and Simone and bringing back some of their techniques and exercises from this course. I think this will be help us build stronger bonds and relationships on the Girls Side!!!
