A Rainy Day at Timber Lake is Better Than A Sunny Day Anywhere Else!
It wasn’t the nicest weekend weather wise up in the Catskills, but that certainly didn’t stop our oldest campers from reuniting and having the time of their lives as they returned to TLC one last time in 2015 for Indian Summer! You know what Jay has always said – “A rainy day at Timber Lake is better than a sunny day anywhere else!”
Our oldest campers from this past summer arrived early Saturday morning from our Long Island and Paramus bus stops and couldn’t wait to get off the bus and check out the campus! Cameras were out, selfies were taken in mass quantities, and tons of laughs were shared as the weather held out just enough for everyone to be able to enjoy the outdoors and walk around.
The weekend was highlighted with some DELICIOUS food prepared by our Head Chef Mindy Jacobs with the help of many of our campers and staff that joined us. We had everything from pigs in a blanket, spicy guacamole and artichoke dip to mini pepperoni pizza bread. Speaking of food, it wouldn’t have been a successful weekend without the famous REGGIE’S COOKIES! Of course, dinner on Saturday night was topped off with a birthday cake for our Girls Head Counselor Jackie Diamond who celebrated her birthday at her favorite place in the world!
We also took our campers to the secret tunnel in the dining hall (SHHH, it’s a secret!) and Jay told some of his acclaimed camp stories while we all gathered around the camp fire in the Ponderosa while many laughs ensued!
It was an amazing weekend with our oldest campers and we can’t wait for our next reunion at the Long Island Sports Hub on November 21st!
See you soon!
