Getting Ready for the Summer of 2016!

Getting Ready for the Summer of 2016

We hope everyone is doing well and the school year is off to a smooth start. With the leaves beginning to change and the cold weather around the corner, we are setting our sights towards the warmth and sunshine of the 2016 summer. Here are some exciting camp events and changes we have planned for the upcoming year:

Our Teen campers enjoyed a weekend of fun and relaxation at Indian Summer 2015. The weekend is always a highlight of our year and is an opportunity to spend quality time with the Teen division. Although the Mountain was frigid, we had a great time playing games in the Ponderosa, eating Reggie’s cookies, exploring the tunnels under the Dining Hall, helping Mindy cook her famous pigs in a blanket – and of course, listening to Jay’s camp stories around the fireplace (too cold for a campfire).

We can’t wait to see the rest of our Camp Family at the Fall Reunion in November. It’s always great reuniting with old camp friends and meeting our new incoming campers. Mark your calendars for November 21st and be on the lookout for more details soon.

electives-center-photoLast summer we added some great new electives with Digital Photography, Graphic Design, and Robotics. We are excited to announce that this summer we will be closing the Indoor Pool and transforming the space into a new state-of-the-art electives facility. The re-purposed building will house a host of exciting activities, including a Culinary Arts Center, WTLC Radio & TV Station, as well as an enlarged dance studio and spaces for spin, yoga, and Zumba. Follow the transformation on our Instagram where we’ll be posting photos of our progress throughout the year!

We will also be holding a contest to name the facility. Submit your ideas on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram using #TLCNameThatBuilding or email us here! Runners-up will receive an original TLC sweatshirt, and the winner will receive the grand prize of having their name permanently emblazoned on the building sign.

With upgrades last summer to the Girls’ Lodge, Ranch, and Bunkhouse, we continue our renovation campaign – this year with complete upgrades to Boys’ Bunks 17-18, 21-22, and the construction of a new HC living quarters in the heart of the Boy’s Campus. The Girl’s Campus will also see some improvements – including a new PA system, landscaping, and additional lighting to help illuminate the campus at night.

We’d like to wish everyone all the best and we can’t wait to see you all soon.

247 days until camp.

Jay & Mindy
