23 More Days for Harry!

Hi, my name is Harry. I am 10 years old and I live in Melville, NY.  I have one brother Jesse who is 8 years old who is going to Timber Lake Camp with me for his first summer this year.  I can’t believe that I will actually be at camp in just 23 days! This will be my third summer at TLC!

My cousins Chase and Jaxon go to Timber Lake Camp too. Chase started at Timber Lake before I did. He liked it so much that I couldn’t help but think about what it would be like if I went to this “amazing place” too.  He made me want to go so badly, that it just seemed like I couldn’t be anywhere else during the summers. So I tested Timber Lake out at one of their “Rookie Days.”  After just spending 1 day at camp at Rookie Day, I knew for sure I could (and would!) spend 7 weeks of my summer there easily! It’s funny though – I couldn’t wait to go to Timber Lake because of all the great things I’d hear about it from my cousin, and now my brother will be going because of all the great things he’s heard about it from me! I guess it’s a family thing!

When I’m at camp, I LOVE playing hockey.  Although I’ve only been at camp for 2 summers, so far my favorite memory from camp was when we won the Jacobs Cup! One day, I’ll be able to play in one of the big tournaments at camp like the older campers do. I seriously can’t wait for that day to come! In addition to playing hockey at camp, I think what I’m most excited about is to see my camp friends again! I’m counting down the days now – only 23 more days!
