Legacy Campers Carry on Family Tradition!

Evan is 8 years old and is about to start his 2nd year at TLC. During the winter, he plays soccer, basketball and baseball and loves ice-skating at Chelsea Piers.  While he enjoys playing with his friends and of course, video games, Evan is also a great skier and wants to learn to snowboard.  He LOVES hockey and talks about the TIMBERDOME all the time.  He will soon be rollerblading his way to the Gordon cup team. Evan loves camp and can’t wait to get back to Saddle Mountain!

Jordan is 11 years old and this will be her 3rd summer at TLC.  She will be entering middle school in the fall and is very excited about leaving elementary school.  During the winter, Jordan loves to ski, and this winter she conquered her first Black Diamond trails in Lake Tahoe and Whistler Mountain in British Columbia.  Jordan is very active in school, loves playing with her friends and is in her second year of playing the violin.  She loves to dance, playing soccer, basketball and softball, rollerblading, rip-stick and jump rope.  Jordan also loves to remind her parents how many days there are until camp!

Both Evan and Jordan are from a multi-generational TLC family of alumni!  They have 2 cousins (Michael and Elizabeth Davis), 1 second cousin (Mathew Silverman) all at TLC with them, and both their dad (Geoff Gershoff) and their Aunt (Robin Gershoff Davis) were TLC campers too!

1) What is the number #1 thing you love most about camp?
Evan: Being with my friends and family.  My sister and cousins are at TLC too. It’s also my dad’s former camp – he’s in the Hall of Fame!  Everyone tells me I look just like he did when he was at camp at my age.
Jordan: All of the friends that I have I met there.

2) What was the funniest thing that happened to you at camp?
Evan: When my counselors pranked me.  We have the best time in our bunk!
Jordan: This is sooooo embarrassing – When I almost forgot to wear pants to breakfast! I was rushing to breakfast because I slept in late. Everyone had left and I was running out the door when I realized I forgot to put pants on! Thank goodness no one saw me!

3) What is your favorite memory from last summer?
Evan: When I got my STARFISH award for Tolerance.
Jordan: I gave a STARFISH award to my friend who comforted me when I was sad.

4) Describe camp using only 3 words:
Evan: Fun, Surprising, Amazing
Jordan: Best Time Ever!

5) What are you most looking forward to doing this summer?
Evan: Playing more sports, water skiing, golfing, hockey, baseball, soccer, basketball….and so many more things to do! I can’t list them all.
Jordan: Meeting new friends!
