Boys’ Side Leadership for 2013

As we prepare for a great season coming up in just 140 days, we wanted to let you know about some exciting changes on Boys’ Campus for 2013.  Jason Mercado, who has been the Freshman & Cadet Division Leader for the past five summers is moving up to direct one of our day camps on the East End of Long Island: Hampton Sports and Arts for campers 10-14.  Jason has been an excellent member of the Boys’ Side team and while we will miss him at Timber Lake we are excited for him and know that he will excel in his new role within our organization.

Robbie Gothelf, who grew up at Timber Lake, spending seven years as a camper, starting in 1997, will be the new Freshman Boys’ Division Leader.  Campers know Robbie very well as he has been full time with Timber Lake for almost three years, serving as Program Director, running activities at camp each summer.  Robbie brings with him the experience of having been a camper, counselor and senior member of our staff.  We know that he’ll do an outstanding job caring for our youngest division while keeping parents informed and connected to camp.

Brett Kotcher, new to Timber Lake, will take over the Cadet Division.  Brett, who now works full time at the TLC Office, is a long-time camper and staff member and brings years of camp experience along with a passion for camp and the impact it can make.  We’re very excited to have Brett with us and we know that he will be a terrific addition to the TLC Staff.

Steve Bocian, our Head Counselor, Danny Bell, (Sophomores) Mike Flewelling, (Juniors) Dan Morgan, (Seniors & Collegiates) and Lee Ammer (Teens) are all looking forward to another great summer.  While we will miss Jason, as I know many of you will, campers can expect to see him up at camp for visits as often as he can – because he’ll be missing his kids as well.
